Our rats are registered with UCK . (United Kennel Club).
Rat
terriers have two body types. Ours are the Class A type. Class A's
have a square, long leg look. Rats with a shorter leg length in proportion
to the body are the Class B's. These are two separate body styles and it is recommended that they never be bred together.
Our sizes range from toy to mini, maybe a small standard from time to
time, with erect ear set. We are focusing on the dilute colors such
as chocolates and blues, along with
traditional black and white tris..
Dilute Colors: Colors such as Blue, Tan Apricot, Charcoal, Weimaraner
Gray/Pearl, and Cream are classified as dilute colors. Many Rat Terriers
that appear to be Tri, Bi, or solid colored carry these colors. In order to
produce them, both parents must carry the particular color in their
background or actually be these colors to determine what genes your dog may
be carrying if they are recessive in nature. Recessive genes are ones that
cannot be seen until paired with another matching recessive gene. Recessive
genes can be carried and hidden for many generations and only become visible
when bred to a dog carrying the same recessive gene.
Sizes: The Rat Terrier comes in 5 different sizes, though, it is
divided into 2 different varieties for conformation exhibition: Miniature
and Standard. Miniature Variety is not to exceed 13 inches, and
Standard Variety is not exceeding 18 inches, both measured at the
withers
